Nuno Lídio Pinto Rodrigues Grande nasceu em 1932 em Vila Real e tornou-se um médico, investigador e professor muito relevante em Portugal. Em 1965 foi colocado para trabalhar no Hospital Militar de Luanda tornando-se 1º Assistente da Universidade de Luanda e coordenador do Centro de Estudos de Medicina Experimental do Instituto de Investigação Científica de Angola. Em Angola foi regente das cadeiras de Anatomia Topográfica e de Histologia. Em 1970, foi eleito Presidente do Conselho Regional da Ordem dos Médicos exercendo também a função de Director da Faculade de Medicina e Vice-Reitor da Universidade de Luanda. Regressou a Portugal em 1974 e fundou, no Porto, com Corino de Andrade, e Ruy Luís Gomes, o Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS) em 1975. Nesta escola médica, em que foi regente da cadeira de Anatomia Sistemática. Desenvolveu alguns trabalhos de reconhecimento internacional. Faleceu no Porto, em 2012.
Nuno Lídio Pinto Rodrigues Grande was born in 1932 in Vila Real and died in Porto in 2012. He became a relevant doctor, researcher and professor in Portugal. In 1965 he started to work at Hospital Militar de Luanda, becoming the 1st Assistant at the University of Luanda and coordinator of the Center for Studies in Experimental Medicine at the Institute for Scientific Research in Angola, also the head of the Topographic Anatomy and Histology courses. In 1970, he was elected President of the Regional Council of the Ordem dos Médicos and also served as Director of the Faculty of Medicine and Vice-Rector of the University of Luanda. He returned to Portugal in 1974 and founded, in Porto, with Corino de Andrade and Ruy Luís Gomes, the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) in 1975. In this medical school, where he was the chair of Systematic Anatomy, he developed some internationally recognised works.
